I'm Adrienne May,
I’m a coastal girl living inland South Carolina in a small Southern town. I began pursuing my passions of writing, art, and online marketing as a twenty year old, and shortly after, the brand Sincerely Adrienne was created. I’ve been spreading the love since 1997. Keep reading for the rest!
At the age of twenty one, my life took an unexpected turn. I was in the middle of my two years of college, aiming for my Associates in Marketing, and working full time to pay the bills. I had suddenly found myself struggling to keep my head above the water. I didn’t see it then, but my unfortunate situation turned out being the biggest turning point for good in my life.
It started with a blog…
One thing that kept running through my mind was this idea that I was alone in my situation. That idea then grew, and I began to wonder how many other hurting individuals felt that way. So, needless to say, I decided to share my story with others. The amount of people I have connected with through my blog is still unbelievable to me.
The more I blogged, the more I realized that I had a passion for writing. So in the midst of finishing college and working full time, I continued to pursue blogging and writing. However, it didn’t stop there…
Painting was just something I did on the side with the very small amount of free time that I had. It was my sweet escape from the stress and it put my mind at ease. That was, until I was approached by a friend who asked if they could pay me to paint something unique for them. My art turned into a small side business, and I found myself fulfilling all sorts of requests.
So there I was pursuing multiple different things that I am passionate about, and having no clue what specifically I wanted to do. After that turning point, I realized that I was given a unique opportunity to chase my dreams in a new way. Why choose to pursue one thing that you’re passionate about, when you can pursue them all? Why not create a brand?
“Meraki” is a Greek term that means to do something with soul, creativity, or love; to put something of yourself into your work. There’s a little piece of me in every thing that I do; be that my writing, my art, or my blog. Every piece is genuinely and sincerely me.
